Visiting Psychiatrist

Dr. Milind Pant

I am a Consultant General Adult Psychiatrist with Metro South Addictions and Mental Health Services. I trained in the UK and worked as a Consultant Psychiatrist before moving to Brisbane in 2014. I have more than 15 years' experience of working in Psychiatry.

My special interests include Anxiety disorders, OCD, Mood disorders including difficult to treat Depression and Bipolar disorder, PTSD, Psychosis, Peri -natal mental disorders.  I can support patients with Personality disorders.

For patients to receive their Medicare rebates I require a written referral from a medical practitioner. It would be useful to include in your referral what specific questions you would like me to address. It would also be helpful to specify any relevant medications the patient has already tried.

Referral process

Patients can contact via Mobile or email to make appointments.

Referrals for ongoing care

I will see the patient with their carer or family (preferable), for an in-depth consultation and will send a detailed report of my assessment and opinion.

I like to work in a 'shared care' framework in partnership with GPs and other clinicians. I will keep the referrer updated of clinical developments, and I value their ongoing contact about patients.

The 'gap fees', or out-of-pocket expense for the patient after their Medicare rebate, are as follows:

  • Standard 1-hour appointment - $100
  • Standard half hour appointment - $50
